Passover to Easter : the week in review

- Passover seder went very well. We had a couple of dear friends over. Zio made tasty gefilte fish from (almost) scratch, and we also had tender, tiny lamb ribs marinated with lemon, olive oil and rosemary for our zeroa. Add four types of matzo and three bottles of wine. By the time we got through the ritual and on to the meal we were pretty well sauced, and Andryushka was bored out of her gourd. She was also deliriously hyper from lack of sleep. Which brings me to...

- Andrea refuses to nap. It's been on a off for a while, but for the past week it's been a constant. The only complication has been that she tries to keep the other kids awake during naptime her at daycare. (I seem to recall a similar story about a certain uncle BOB)

- Andryushka sings a lot. This week she's been riffing on ABC/Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, mixing the words, making up her own words, putting in some fly dance moves (i.e. running back and forth, then twirling in circles).

- I submitted a paper. Finally. As usual, the whole thing was grueling and anti-climatic. I'm looking forward to the next few peaceful weeks until the reviews come back and make life really interesting again.

- Today is Easter. The festivities with my family are next week, and it was raining today, so we didn't do anything too lavish. I made chocolate chip cookies, and Andryushka received an easter walrus. He says "Blaaarrrrrr" when you push his flipper.
